Founded on a deep understanding of craft with a dedication and appreciation for collaboration, Maiden focuses on meticulous timber craftsmanship, modern furniture design and everything in between.

The ‘maiden’ Mark

Taking tradition into the future by applying our knowledge of heritage craft to contemporary design.

Maiden; “being or involving the first attempt or act of its kind.”

Sitting at the intersection of hand and technology, the foundation of our practice is all about embracing elements of the past to help shape new and sustainable futures.

The movement of quality product.

Our makers mark is a nod to the symbol used to indicate the direction of timber grain on technical drawings. With this knowledge comes an understanding of how timber moves, reacts and shapes in order to build a high quality product.

A symbol of strength, skill and beauty.

Our custom ‘Dovetail Display’ font references the dovetail joint, the strongest for joining solid timber. It’s a way of working that pre-dates written history and is used as a marker to distinguish unique design and craft movements.
